Rachel Foster is a recent college graduate, earning a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Stonehill College. Rachel hails from Townsend, Massachusetts and joins the team at Shallowbrook as our new, full-time instructor.
While her love for horses began at a very young age, it took until she was ten years old to finally convince her parents to let her ride. Under the tutelage of respected Hunter/Jumper trainer, Denise Marks (a past resident of Shallowbrook), Rachel quickly progressed as an equestrian and enjoyed a successful junior and amateur career – riding her way to numerous championships and top ribbons on the New England show circuit.
On the National scale, as Captain of Stonehill’s varsity equestrian team, Rachel earned herself a spot in Intermediate Fences as one of the top six collegiate riders in the Intercollegiate Horsemen’s Show Association (IHSA) with her ride at the Kentucky Horse Park in 2010.
Over her thirteen years in the equine world, Rachel has developed her horsemanship skills by working not only with hunters and jumpers, but in the breeding industry as well. She credits her success to the opportunities she has always had to work with various mounts and trainers. Rarely riding the same horse has allowed Rachel to become a versatile horsewoman, a quality she prides herself in. Now, as a young professional, Rachel loves to work with both riders and horses of all ages. She shares her passion for horses with her students through her knowledge, positive teaching methods, and friendly personality – providing them with a fun learning environment to thrive in.
