Elaina Hoeppner - Riding Instructor

A third generation equestrian, Elaina began taking riding lessons at an early age and began showing at age 7. She grew up as a 10-year member of the Granby Pony Club, competing in local shows, horse trials and Pony Club rallies. Elaina was a member of the Varsity Equestrian Team at Umass Dartmouth her freshman year of college. She then moved home and started competing her horse, Slew Micci, in USEA recognized events. The pair ribboned in the Stoneleigh Burnham Tri-Color jumper show series over the winter leading into 2017. Elaina had a very successful start to the 2017 season with two winning tests at the Mount Holyoke College dressage show, first place in the Mystic Valley Hunt Club combined test, and two wins at the Mystic Valley Horse Trials and Larkin Hill Horse Trials. Utilizing her stable management skills and experience, she has worked part time at a local barn since 2014 while completing her Bachelor's degree from UMass Amherst and presently Juris Doctorate at Western New England School of Law. As a member of the Shallowbrook team, Elaina hopes to continue to compete and improve her riding skills, while sharing her experience and knowledge with aspiring young riders.
